4 humans & 2 months = 1 Carry On
Jun 30, 2016
Do you become overwhelmed at the thought of prepping for vaca? I used to…until I decided to make ONE simple change. Would you like to know what it is?? Keep reading…
First, I want to share the mindset shift that is transforming my life, even my packing. “Don’t say yes for the sake of saying yes. IF your gut does not say YYYEEESSS then stop, discern THEN decide. Stop all the yesses! You are worth more than giving away your yesses.
What does this have to do with packing? Well, as we prepared for our two month adventure I knew I could NOT make the same mistake I did two years ago when I did a long travel experiment with two babies. Then I packed 2 suitcases, 2 carry-ons, AND a diaper bag. Yes. Yes I did that. Talk about crazy-town. Even though there was an additional human in the mix I was determined to look at the packing for adventure differently.
Disclaimer: Activities, medicine, toiletries are very personal; therefore, my two cents is applied to one area in particular. The mindset is valid for the whole process.
Ok, back to it! I applied my new mindset to packing our clothes. Guess how many suitcases I packed for 4 people away from home for 2 months….1 carry on. Yep. That’s it. Are you in the throws of prepping and don’t have time to adopt a new mindset? Don’t worry – I got you covered with my checklist you can grab right here!
Side note: I did bring along 2 additional bags; one for activities and another for diapers. This is the personal stuff I mentioned that is difficult to measure for each family; however, I thought it was important to share that I applied this mindset to EACH item we brought.
Don’t forget to pick up your checklist. It will be a freeing intentional step – be sure to let me know what you think in Our Modern Village, a Facebook Group of amazing biz ladies!
One of my joys is being able to show women how to streamline their days so they can leave a legacy. Another passion is adventuring with my 3 littles in princess quests and epic dragon battles while pursuing an 80+ year marriage with my supportive husband. The online space has become a great journey and I’m delighted to be here with you all .
